Soma Side Effects

 

People taking the medication 'Soma' should be aware that they can potentially experience side effects caused from the medication. Although many people experience little or no side effects when taking the medication, it is important to be aware of its potential risks.

The most common side effect of 'Soma' is drowsiness. Some other common side effects of 'Soma' include dizziness, tremor, headache, low blood pressure, temporary redness of the face and neck, depression, irritiability, insomnia, blurred vision, nausea, vomitting, hiccups and irritation of the stomach or intestines.

In addition, some more serious side effects of 'Soma' that occur infrequently include paralysis, intense weakness or loss of coordination, fever, feeling light-headed and/or fainting, decrease in white blood cells, unusually fast heartbeat, seizure, vision loss, agitation and confusion. Users of 'Soma' who experience any of these noted side effects should contact their doctor immediately for further instructions.

Moreover, allergic reactions can occur in some users of 'Soma' and emergency medical help should be sought immediately if an allergic reaction is suspected. Symptoms of an allergic reaction can include hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of the face, including the tongue, throat or lips. Allergic reactions to 'Soma' are more likely to occur if the user has experienced an allergy to it in the past or if they are allergic to mebutamate, tybamate or meprobamate, or if the user suffers from any other allergies.

Before using 'Soma', any medical history of problems with the kidneys, liver or a history of drug or alcohol abuse, asthma, or seizure disorder should be reported to the dispensing medical professional.

Some side effects of the medication can be eased through taking precautionary measures. For example, the side effects of dizziness and lightheadedness can be reduced by slowly rising from a sedated or lying position. Alcohol should be avoided when taking 'Soma' to avoid additional side effects and interactions. In addition, users of 'Soma' should not drive, operate heavy machinery or engage in any other activity that requires attention until they are sure that they can perform the activity safely.

Lastly, 'Soma' is not indicated for use during pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby. It is passed through breast milk and could have an undesirable effect on a nursing infant. Women should consult their doctor before breastfeeding.
